The Plovdiv Drama Theatre is the first professional Bulgarian theatre founded in 1881 and is currently one of the leading cultural organizations in the country. It is a state repertory theatre operating in the total of three stages. After a fire in 2013, the main stage was reconstructed and is now one of the best-equipped theatre halls in the country. The repertoire includes domestic and foreign titles of all genres from contemporary and classical authors. The theatre hosts the annual international theatre festival "Stage at Crossroads“.
